Our Final Opening sequence before ammendments

After asking three people in my target audience range for their opinions of our opening scene and after gathering our thoughts on the narrative, lighting and fonts my group and I decided to get together and change some of the aspects of our opening scene so that it had continuity of genre conventions. For example, after much research we included a flashback of the paranormal figure living happily in the house before the new tenants moved in. However, we received feedback suggesting that the flashback was hard to understand and didn't fit into the flow of the opening scene, so we decided to move it to the end as a flashback that signals how the film is going to begin and go on to tell the story of what happened to the girl and why she is shown to be haunting 'Sally' in 'Our House'.

The audience theory also suggested that the gold cursive font didn't match with what we had previously planned to do and that it wasn't successful in making the audience feel on edge or anxious about the events to come in the film. Therefore we did some additional research of the existing fonts on final cut pro and picked a font called 'Grunge' my group and I thought this looked a lot more startling, we decided to add it over the top of our filming in a white colour so it really stood out against the low key lighting we used throughout the opening sequence.
