Editing- Sound Decisions
After moving all of our clips into the correct order and starting to add some effects sound was important as we needed to understand how it would flow with both diegetic and non-diegetic sound. We wanted to keep some of the diegetic sound for effect such as the slamming of the letter box, screams, dialogue and scratches/bangs. therefore we just moved the volume up and on the diegetic sound that didn't sound professional such as rustling and footsteps we turned the volume down. Then we had to pick a soundtrack to play over the top of the whole opening scene, it was hard to find a clip and we had to take one from YouTube, however we did send a copy right permission email to YouTube.

We added an appropriate Christmas sound track to the end of the clip to make it obvious that the timing of the narrative had changed to before the events began to unfold in the house, however it was difficult to find one that was royalty free so we sent an email to the company owning this song to request the right to use this in our video. We also sent this email to the company owning the song which was produced by a lady called Brenda Lee,
