Editing Session 2

In the second editing session we could get to work on putting all of our clips in the correct order and making sure they flowed and looked professional. At first we put them in a rough order and watched it through, this took some time as we rearranged clips on several occasions such as the flashback clip as we weren't to sure as tow here this fitted in and looked best. Then we had to crop some of the clips that were to long or had unnecessary filming on that we didn't think was needed in our final media product. The main tools on Final Cut Pro we used for this was the trim and blade tools as these could be used to cut down or get rid of certain parts of the clip.As you can see in the clip below, i demonstrate how the tool simply cuts the clip in half so the end that isn't needed can be deleted in one click.

Secondly, we started to add in some other edits to make the transitioning and overall look of the clip more professional. For example in one of the scenes we wanted to zoom in on the main protagonist reacting to the noises coming from her house so the audience can understand her emotions and unfamiliarity with what is going on in the mise-en-scene of the clip. We decided to use a feature called 'Ken Burns', With this you simply chose where you want the zoom to start(as a long shot) and where is should finish(fully zoomed in) and once it is added it will look like a gradual smooth zoom.
