Production Schedule

My group and I have created a production schedule as it will be essential to keeping us organised when filing for our opening sequence. We have decided to film over three days so we can get our clips perfect and in case we have any aspects that we are unable to control that may hinder our process such as the weather or lighting. Another way we have tried to prevent this is we film at different times each day so we can get high quality professional footage that links to our narrative. For example we will film from 3:30pm onwards on one occasion because we need to have some lighting to capture the footage of the outside and setting of the house yet it needs to be going dark so it sets the scene and time of the narrative(night-time when the main character is asleep). On our production schedule we have included what characters props sound and camera/movements we will include. We have all of this information on our storyboard which we will follow when filming but the production schedule is helpful in keeping all the members of the group informed and organized as to when and what they need to bring to filming.

Focus Group and analysis

During the focus group we asked our participants questions about the horror genre so that we could get some ideas on what and who the target audience want the see and what they want to get from a horror film. The participants didn't answer in much details so I did try and ask them questions to give them room to expand such as 'What is pathetic fallacy'. With our answers we can make sure that the aspects of horror films our target audience wants such as jumps and scares will be included in our openong sequence.

Focus Group Preparation

Before we filmed our focus group we created a summary of how we are going to product our opening scene to a horror film this was useful in giving the participants some insight into what we are planning and how we could improve upon our ideas to make it more appealing to the target audience(which includes them as they are aged 16-17 and our target audience is 16 and over). We then came up with ten questions which we read our to the group of people who gave consent to take part in our focus group and gave them time to answer.
