Collaboration planning work

In our collaboration my group and I spent a lot of time discussing and planning how we are going to approach our opening scene. We shared our ideas on the horror genre of film and discussed the codes,conventions and ideology we were hoping to use. We created a detailed mind map of our initial ideas including the ideology, sound and camera movements to include.

We shared ideas on the genre of horror and realised that it can be separated into two main types:slasher horror and psychological horror. My group and I decided that a psychological horror would be best for us as we do not have the necessary special effects and make-up equipment to make a realistic,professional looking slasher horror opening scene however we want to look more into a demonic narrative that will be more easily achievable. We looked at representation of characters in horror films and came up with the idea that there is always a 'princess' style girl who is the victim of the events to unfold.

Furthermore we decided that the opening scene will begin in the middle of the horror action and will include flash-backs and flash-forwards in order to make the narrative understandable and thrilling but also to allow room for the horror to progress.
